English & Computer Literacy

Susie Wallace is the founder of an English language and computer literacy program for college students. Thanks to her hard work and dedication, students from this rural area have the opportunity to learn how to read and write English, communicate via email, and receive additional language practice which is not included in the literature-based curriculum. When she is not in India, her work has been successfully carried on by a Gandhi College graduate, Anshu Singh. Two college students, Emily Straus and Shannon Grey spent several weeks at the college teaching English. In January and February of 2010, Susan Wallace and MaryLynne Evans organized and taught a five-week workshop for teaching English to current students at the college. The workshop was an enormous success and led to the establishment of the English Learning program in 2012.
