Gandhi College offers a three-year program of study to qualified students who have passed twelfth grade (intermediate college) examination. Admission is based on the grades in the twelfth grade, choice of subjects and character certificate from the Principal of the previous school. Decisions about admission to the college are made by an admissions committee. After successfully completing three years of education, and passing all the required test and examinations, students receive a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. As per the rules of the Ministry of Education, all degree awarding colleges must receive a proper accreditation from one of the state universities, and approval from the Governor of the state. At its inception, Gandhi College is affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth University, Varanasi (UP), India. In July 2017, Gandhi College became affiliated with the newly created university Jananayak Chandrashekhar University (JNCU).The academic year starts in July and ends in April. The classes start in July of each calendar year and the final examinations are held in March/April of the following year. No classes are held in May and June.

In addition to the required classes for BA and MA degrees, several vocational training programs (handicrafts, tailoring, sewing, etc.), games and sports, and learning English and use of computers have been introduced.
